Why inspections?

Shipping industry is governed by strong national and international regulations, thus vessels are subjected to a wide range of inspections and audits. Tanker industry is even more regulated because of the high environmental risk posed by the type of cargo transported. Yet, while the industry continues to introduce new measures to improve vessel inspections and overall quality of the service offered, ship owners do their part in reducing the world’s population of substandard vessels by performing regular inspections on the vessels they operate. According to the regulations, tankers shall be inspected several times a year.

The aim of such inspections is to raise awareness concerning practices on board that could lead to claims or affect the overall safety of the vessel. TOCPRO team members leading vessel inspections use their own experience as the Masters benefiting from the good practices observed on the numerous vessels visited.
